B2B Media Opps: Torch taps first CMO after funding round (Score 62)

Torch named Jim Bell as its seemingly first CMO earlier this year after he served in the same role at Glint for around four years. Both Torch and Glint provide businesses with various helpful programs, so Bell brings expertise from doing similar work. At Torch, Bell will handle all aspects of global marketing, fueling the company's go-to-market engine.

Not long after this appointment, Torch also added Sam Zolnor to its team as marketing operations manager.

This hire also comes not long after Torch landed a $25m Series B funding round in February 2021. According to Crunchbase, this meant the company has now raised $47.8m in funding.

From November 2020-November 2021, Adbeat reports Torch spent roughly $30.6k on digital display, more than double the roughly $12.1m it spent from November 2019-November 2020. Most (29.5) of this year's spend has gone toward programmatic ads placed via Google Display Network onto site destinations such as shrm.org (22.3), td.org, mltnovel.com, foxnews.com and mlb.com.

Torch's platform offers personal growth options for employees, so sellers able to offer high-ROI B2B strategies will have a significant upper hand.
